Is The Whelen Modified Tour Dropping Stafford Speedway Spring Sizzler Event?

Over the past several months we have seen the tensions rise between Stafford Motor Speedway and NASCAR after the track decided to become independent, cutting ties with its NASCAR affiliation. One of the biggest reasons to the track leaving the NASCAR light is due to Stafford coming up with its own tv broadcasting of their races. Stafford Speedway TV and then a deal to have Flo Racing broadcast the races.

Today Stafford Speedway announced the Napa Auto Parts Duel for April 23rd, 2022. It seems the duels will replace the Whelen Tour event that has been held at Stafford for decades. With that said it is also unlikely that we will see the Whelen Modified Tour back at the track that is right near the CT/MASS border. There have been several rumors of NASCAR and the Whelen Modified Tour dropping the track and with the announcement of the duels, well the rumors could soon come to be breaking news.
