Ryan Preece To Xfinity Series In 2022?

With Ricky Stenhouse Jr. being announced that he will be with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2022 via contract extension the future of Ryan Preece is up in the air. The NASCAR Cup driver is in the end part of what is his third full time season after coming up from the NASCAR Xfinity Series where he had 2 Ws, 12 T5s and 19 T10s in a total of 59 starts. Preece is yet to win in the Cup Series and overall he has a lone CWTS win at the Nashville Super Speedway earlier this year.

The native from Connecticut made a name for himself in local track racing along with competing in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour where his splits are 25-81-107 in a total of 166 starts. Historically we have seen only a small number of drivers come up from the modified series to the biggest stage(s) of NASCAR with many having little to no success. Ryan Preece will most likely not be in the Cup Series come 2022 as a full time driver, most likely driving for a part time team. Another way we will see Ryan Preece is as an Xfinity Series driver next season, over the past decade we have seen drivers who have failed in Cup go down one to Xfinity. The best example of that is Justin Allgaier and Michael Annett.

It is without a doubt though that Preece will continue to stay in the modified scene, continuing to be a regular at all the ‘big’ races.
