Whelen Modified Tour driver Woody Pitkat just completed his best season since 2015 as the 2021 Whelen Modified season ended last night. Pitkat was not in contention for the championship, but overall he was a contender week in and week out. With an average finish of 10th place Pitkat was a regular upfront as he led a total of 47 laps this season, overall the most laps led since 2015 (136.) Pitkat had a total of 2 TOP5s and 8 TOP10s, that is the most T10 finishes Pitkat has had since the 2015 Whelen season.
Woody Pitkat could be at the beginning of a mini career resurgence with his 2021 results as the 15-year Whelen Mod Tour vet gears up for year 16. Pitkat has definitely given himself all the momentum going forward into 2022. This could be huge for Pitkat who is a true household name in the racing community and has overall reshaped modified racing over the past several decades.
