Starting p6 on the grid Matt Hirschman had some work to do if we wanted to get out front in the Stafford Speedway Spring Sizzler. It was Ron Silk and Ryan Preece leading the field to green for the 50th running of the historic race. Several early yellows reset the field multiple times, as the race went green longer the strategies began to form with intensity picking up. In the closing ten laps multiple yellows would wave along with multiple lead changes occurring. The No. 60 red modified car of Matt Hirschman led a majority of the event up to that point, a quick lead change giving Ryan Preece the lead mean’t that Hirschman had to act fast. Leading 43/100 laps Matt Hirschman would win by less than a second over Ryan Preece, giving him the opportunity to race in the SRX Series later this year. Winning the Spring Sizzler is like winning the Daytona 500, it is the race a driver marks on their calendar every year, only a few have done it as many dream to do it and on Sunday, April 24th Matt Hirschman’s dream came true. The New York Sports Show had three cars competing for history, Ryan Preece #3, Bobby Labonte #25nc and Michael Christoper Jr., #7ny. The drivers finished p2, p27 and p8, respectfully.
