NYSS RACE DAY WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED IN PROTECTING THIS GREAT COUNTRY!

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour made its way down to the Jennerstown Speedway for the Jennerstown Salutes 150 for this memorial day weekend race. Jennerstown marks race four on the tour calendar, going in we have a tie for first place in the points between Eric Goodale and Patrick Emerling. Not far away though is Doug Coby who is the most recent winner in the tour. So far this season he have seen surprise after surprise from upset winners to the possibility of snow under a rain delay, Jennerstown has always given the fans and drivers great races. The race started late due to rain pushing everything back, once qualifying took place and went it would be Justin Bonsignore on the pole. The cars had names of armed forces men and women who gave their life to keep this great country safe.

After being scheduled to start at 7:15pm EST the green flag would wave at 8:19pm to fairly empty stands. The first 50 laps featured great battles across the entire field, despite that it would be Justin Bonsignore to lead all of the first 50, the 2020 champion has had a great start to the season so far and is looking for his first win of the season. On lap 63 we would see the battle of the Bonsignore's as Justin sat p1 and Kyle moved into p2 after passing Doug Coby. Going on to lap 80 the lead would go from Bonsignore to Bonsignore as our first lead change of the night would be during a family rivalry battle in the middle of lap traffic. Lap 88 would feature our first caution for debris in turn three, following that it was very easy to say that pit road was busy, we would see Justin Bonsignore win the race off despite having to back up to ensure enough room in exiting. The field took the green on lap 94 and not even a full ten seconds later the big one would occur as Tyler Rypkema spun in front of the field after contact with Ron Silk, which led to chain reaction, also involved was points leader Eric Goodale who would end up pulling the no.58 behind the wall after a very stressful night.

Going back to green it would be lap 100/150, this race was flying by so far and has been only led by a Bonsignore up to this point. With just ten laps to go it would be a battle between Justin Bonsignore and Doug Coby, who were neck and neck, not even a second apart. At the end it would be Justin Bonsignore pulling his no.51 into victory lane after starting on pole and leading over 100 laps to win.
