This morning Stafford Speedway released a documentary on the late Ted Christopher who has won over 100 features at the track. Being dubbed 'The King' Ted Christopher was able to drive a car like no one else as he had starts from the Whelen Modified Tour all the way to the NASCAR Cup Series, but it all started in grassroot racing. In the documentary made by Bonssa Tufa you will see over 20 interviews with 30+ people. The full name of the documentary is 'The Life & Career of Ted Christopher.'
This film is coming out just one day shy of what would have been Christopher's 63rd birthday. On September 16th, 2017 Christopher tragically lost his life in a plane crash en route to New York to compete in a Whelen Modified Tour event. In 2019 an NTSB report released stated that fuel starvation was the cause of the crash due to a towel cloth obstructing a fuel line.
Ted Christopher was in a way the Dale Earnhardt of Connecticut local track racing along with northeast modified racing. No matter where you are at Stafford Speedway you will see the TC13 flag wave in the wind.
The documentary took over 200 hours to fully put together according to Bonssa Tufa and it is truly nothing short of a masterpiece. The documentary will be shown below.
