“Valtteri, it’s James, you're going to Alfa next season.”
It was announced earlier today that Mercedes driver Valtteri will leave the team to drive for Alfa Romeo in 2022, teaming up with Antonio Giovinazzi. This comes as Bottas has had a true up and down season with the team and is yet to win as the season continues to wind down. Bottas has been with the Silver Arrows team since 2017, he will now be an Alfa for sometime now as it is a multi year contract he signed.
With Bottas out this just makes the George Russell rumors grow and become even more likely. Many speculate that Williams driver George Russell will be promoted to Mercedes with the announcement right before or right after the Italian Grand Prix.
