Robert Kubica To Alfa Romeo In 2022?

Alfa Romeo reserve driver Robert Kubica has not raced a full season for a Formula One team since the 2019 season for Williams. Now here is 2021 he has done two races so far as a reserve driver for the Alfa team, filling in for the COVID stricken Kimi Raikkonen. Kubica will most likely not be in the driver's seat next week for the Russian Grand Prix as Raikkonen would have already been cleared to race. With that said in Kubica’s two races this season he has finish average of 14th after starting on the grid an average of a 16th place grid start.

Overall that is very solid and respectable for a guy who has not raced up to that point since 2019 and not to mention that he races with only an arm and a half basically. As of now Alfa Romeo has only confirmed a driver for one of their two empty seats and that driver is Mercedes Valtteri Bottas.

After this season Kimi Raikkonen is set to retire as teammate Antonio Giovinazzi is not yet confirmed to be staying or leaving the team. Having the experienced vet being Robert Kubica as the second driver along with the massively underrated Valtteri Bottas being #1 that can set up and propel Alfa Romeo to being a top team and with 2022 being such an unknown season with the new next gen car this can be a defining year for many teams and can truly reshape the F1 grid when it comes to the top teams.

A Bottas and Kubica team up could do wonders for the Alfa team that can very well happen. Now overall Giovinazzi would most likely be kept as a backup/test driver for the team as he has simply not given good results for the team.
