Kevin Magnussen And HAAS Out Qualified Mercedes

HAAS came into Formula One less than a decade ago and they became one of the most famous teams in the paddock. The fame came from one thing, being slow. HAAS has always been a back marker team, but that may just be coming to an end. Today we had the first qualifying session of the season, Q1, Q2 and Q3 all featured at the Bahrain circuit. With race day early Sunday morning the field is now set for the GP.

It would be Charles Leclerc going fastest to grab his 10th pole as defending champion Max Verstappen went P2. Mercedes has struggled in every preseason test plus the practices, despite that Lewis Hamilton got his sliver arrow No. 44 to P5. Valtteri Bottas ran right behind his former teammate to bring his new Alfa Romeo ride P6. The biggest storyline today though was HAAS as Kevin Magnussen gets a P7 qually position in a HAAS! K-Mag did the impossible today, with that said, is HAAS in the forefront to being a points contender this season? The team was faster than George Russell’s Mercedes who went P9, if the sole American team stays upfront in the Grand Prix it will be a race to remember.
