Confirmed: George Russell To Mercedes In 2022; Spells Death For Williams

It was announced earlier today that George Russell will leave Williams and join Mercedes for the 2022 Formula One season, replacing Valtteri Bottas who is going to Alfa Romeo. With George Russell going to the famed championship silver arrows team it will bring once again the downfall of Williams as they were just starting to crawl out of the hole they dug so many years back. George Russell has been the top Williams driver the last two seasons and has scored the most points to them and the team their first podium in over three years, he is a critical part to the teams development.

As of now it is unclear who will join Williams to fill that empty void. It will be fun to see how the team goes into 2022 with the new rules package. One thing is for sure though, and that one thing is the fact that George Russell will out drive new teammate Lewis Hamilton.
