The Stafford Motor Speedway is entering into the 2022 racing season in late April. The season starts off with opening day on a Saturday, followed by the 50th running of the Spring Sizzler on the 24th. The track is coming off of an action packed and historic year for racing and it looks to get even more intense in ‘22. Coming into the racing season the track has several drivers moving up or switching teams along with new drivers entering for the first time, but for every weekly division there will always be stand out drivers. This week NYSS Race Day is featuring the Street Stock division at the track.
Listed below is a list of the top three drivers of the Street Stock division at the track along with an honorable mention, the list is based on sole stats.
Street Stock - Chris Meyer - Bert Ouellette - Travis Hydar (Kyle Johnson - HM)
Chris Meyer came second in the points behind Frank L’Etoile Jr. despite a powerful season that featured 5 WINS, 17 TOP 5s and 18 TOP 10s.
Bert Ouellette came into Stafford as a rookie in the Stocks’ but was a threat from the first week. 1 Win and 12 TOP 10s would be featured with 10 TOP 5s to add up 6th best in points, Bert was able to conquer the tough track in just a matter of weeks and had momentum week in and week out.
Travis Hydar has another winning season, appearing in victory lane four times. When not in the VL Hydar finished in the TOP 5 12-times with 17 TOP 10 finishes.
HM - Kyle Johnson got his first career win at the famed track, but only had a total of two top five finishes. Johnson was a regular inside the ten front runners as he had 9 TOP 10s to seal a career best in what was his second season racing the #88.
