SRX Series To Return To Stafford Speedway In 2022?

For several weeks there has been rumor after rumor in the SRX world as the new racing series approaches its second season. 2021 featured the inaugural SRX series with its first race at Stafford motor Speedway, a short track in Connecticut most famous for modified racing. In that race we saw local racing star Doug Coby take the win, the six-time Whelen Modified Champion then became a SRX race winner. The season as a whole was a huge success as the series went to some of the most famous and historical short tracks with some of the most well known racing drivers from around the world. The inaugural series championship would be crowned to a driver named Tony Stewart who absolutely dominated race in and race out.

Now here we are with just several months to the green flag dropping and we may have a schedule announcement within the next few days to weeks. Most likely we will see most of the tracks in season one return in the second season, but the track attracting the biggest news is Stafford Speedway. Stafford has been talking about a lot of news involving the SRX series with hints over the past several days, not to mention the addition of the jumbotron to the track. I want to stress though that getting a jumbotron does not mean it’s related to the SRX Series, but the timing is perfect for both the start of the weekly season and the SRX return. The SRX series also posted a photo of Stafford saying “Coming soon” and with Stafford being projected to be the first race of the season, it would be the track coming the soonest on the schedule.

As of now nothing is confirmed but NYSS Race Day will provide updates when more news is released, subscribe to our email list HERE to get alerted when news drops.
