Three Top Stafford Speedway Drivers Suspended. How Does This Affect The Championship?

It was announced several days ago that three top drivers in the Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified division have been suspended for one race due to an altercation that took place in the pit area of the historic track. Those drivers who were suspended were Keith Rocco, Ronnie Williams and Bryan Narducci. All of them have wins this season at Stafford.

Stafford Speedway cited all three drivers for "Actions detrimental to the sport of auto racing." With that said both Narducci and Williams also had their handicap removed for one race (when they come back) along with the suspension as Keith Rocco, the defending champion was removed from handicapping for his next two races at the track. Following that all three drivers were placed on probation for the rest of the season. This is the first 'big' suspension of a Stafford driver since the George Bessette Jr. suspension back in 2019.

Even though the drivers are suspended from racing they can still come see the next race at Stafford. Overall we may not see a driver there and that driver may not race at Stafford anytime in the near future, that driver is Ronnie Williams. The team that Williams drives for hinted that they will not be racing there again as a Facebook post talking about selling 17 pit passes emerged on the social media platform from a figure high up in the team. If Ronnie Williams does not race again this season at Stafford he would be giving up a 5th place points position ( 334 points ) along with what would be a 'wasted win.'

Keith Rocco sits p7 in points with a single win, four top5s and six top10s as he is trying to defend his championship. The lowest Rocco could drop to, points wise is p10, which could push him to as much as 126 behind the points leader.

Bryan Narducci is one of the more recent winners at the track as he sits p11 in the standings. The lowest he can drop to is p16 and can be as much as 180 points behind first place.

If Ronnie Williams does end up running at Stafford again, the most he would drop down to is p9 and would be around 104 points behind first.
