Stafford Speedway Spring Sizzler Race Preview

The 49th annual Spring Sizzler at the Stafford Motor Speedway is less than 48 hours away as the Whelen Modified Tours gets ready for what is the second race of the 2021 season. After being postponed from last Sunday, drivers and teams are anxious to get on the track and start racing again. The Spring Sizzler is like the Daytona 500 for the Whelen Modified Tour, if you win this race you will go down in history. Over the past several spring sizzler races at the historic track we have seen six time Whelen Modified Champion Doug Coby park his car in victory lane several times.

This race does a number on the cars, even though its just 150 laps around the short track. We will see a lot of battling for position through out the race, weather it's for first place or twentieth place, the Whelen Modified Tour produces some of the best racing you can see.

Going into this race Justin Bonsignore has made over 30 starts at Stafford and has not won a single won of them, the two time champion of the series has been strong at Stafford, he looks to get it done this Friday. You cannot rule out local favorites Ryan Preece who made the entry list late and Woody Pitkat who is top five for all time wins at the track. Overall though the last time both drivers were on the track ended up with Preece in the wall and Pitkat on his side. You also need to remember that Max McLaughlin will be in the race as well, even though he has not made a lot of starts in the series he has shown strong runs in the modified.

This will be not only a very intense race, but also a very emotional race as we have seen emotions fly more then race at Stafford. At the end of the night, no matter who wins, we will see some of the most talented modified drivers in America face off.
