The Camping World SRX Series announced on their official Twitter yesterday that there will be some changes coming for this weekends race at Knoxville. This comes after its inaugural race last Saturday at the Stafford Motor Speedway where we saw local favorite Doug Coby get the win. Overall for that race we saw fans divided on if the racing was good or not. One of the biggest things everyone seemed to be talking about was the competition caution thrown in the middle of the race right before a car was about to go a lap down.
The SRX Series tweeted that they listened to the fans and that there will be changes for this Saturdays race. Now I'm gunna quote the famous Bob Dylan "The times they are a-changin'." And that is 100% true, not only do we have a brand new racing series in the world of auto racing, but we also have a racing series that listens to its fans. For many years but mainly as of recently NASCAR has ignored its fans on the changes they have made, which has led to a larger decrease of viewership. By the SRX Series paying attention to what its fans want may be a step in the right direction for other racing series such as NASCAR. I feel that the biggest thing from this is that the SRX Series took time to listen, even if they decided not to do anything they still listened, with that said the SRX Series just gave us single-handily something that NASCAR never did.
It is not 100% known on what those changes are, but we will find out very soon as the series is going to its first dirt track on the schedule.
