SRX Series Returns In Thrilling Fashion

June 18th, 2022: The SRX Series was back for its second season in the sport of auto racing. Starting the first racing week at a packed Five Flags Speedway many were expecting intense racing for the 13-car field and that is exactly what they got. The local star for the race was Bubba Pollard as he faced the likes of Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte and Marco Andretti. Bubba Pollard would win the first heat race with Helio Castroneves winning the second heat, Pollard would get the pole after a random draw.

Tony Kanaan would take the lead from Pollard on lap 18 and built up a strong lead for himself until a caution would come out, bunching up the field. Part time driver Helio Castroneves would win the race after taking a late lead, he was not even in the race 48 hours before the green flag waved and he would end up standing in victory lane that hot Saturday night.

Defending SRX Series champion Tony Stewart was up and down all race long as he brought home a top ten finish with p10. Other notable finishes include Ryan Newman who finished p3 and Bill Elliott with a p9 finish with local star Bubba Pollard finishing p2. Tony Kanaan who led the most laps in the feature would finish p4.
