2021 Stafford Motor Speedway Championship Predictions

The 2021 Stafford Motor Speedway season is getting ready to take the green flag as opening day is on Saturday. With that said the points are reset, it is a totally new season with a lot of new faces. Last year we saw thrilling championship runs across all divisions, with almost every one having to be determined in the last race, we also saw some tiebreakers take place as well.

One of the biggest questions at Stafford currently is who will win a championship? NYSS Race Day (part of popular podcast New York Sports Show) has gotten over 80% of our predictions correct in the 3 years we have been active, so lets take a look at our 2021 championship predictions.

2020 Stafford Speedway Champions

- Zack Robinson - Street Stock

- Andrew Durand - Limited Late Model

- Adam Gray - Late Model

- Brian Sullivan - SK Light

- Keith Rocco - SK Modified

2021 Stafford Speedway Championship Predictions

- Chris Meyer - Street Stock - The Street Stock division has been blown wide open as front runners Meghan Fuller and Zack Robinson have moved up to Late Models and SK Lights, with that said this season may be the most interesting yet for the stocks'. Last year Chris Meyer came to Stafford after being a regular at the Waterford Speed Bowl, he adjusted to Stafford very fast and ended up scoring two wins and second in the standings.

- Alexandra Fearn - Limited Late Model - Alexandra Fearn is the winningest female driver in Stafford Speedway history. In 2020 she had a very strong season as she got 3 WINS, 13 TOP5s and 14 TOP10s. Overall though she ended the season on a sour note as she tied for the championship with Andrew Durand, but would end up losing the tie breaker based off wins. Fearn as won in every division she has raced win, 2021 will be a big season for her as Jeremy Lavoie will give her a run for her money. It will be a very tight battle and will most likely come down once again to the final lap of the final race.

- Adam Gray - Late Model - Adam Gray has had so much success at Stafford in the late models it is unbelievable, the three time champion looks to make it four and also back to back championships as he is the defending champ. Adam Gray got an impressive six wins in 2020 in what was just a 14 race season! The late model division is very competitive with about 8-12 cars/drivers that can win every week. It will be a battle and consistency is key to a championship win this season.

- George Bessette Jr - SK Light - George Bessette Jr is on the verge of becoming the next super star, the young driver from Danbury is going places, and he is going fast. Overall at Stafford George, nicknamed "Mad Pup" has 10 wins in just 4 full seasons of racing at the historic track. 2020 marked his first full season in SK Lights and he did very well with 7 TOP5s and 9 TOP10s, he was consistent and up front a lot. It is just a matter of time before he gets wins and a championship in the SKL division.

- Todd Owen - SK Modified - Todd Owen has done so much in his 22 years of racing at Stafford Speedway except win a championship. Now, I'm not saying that in a bad way, Todd Owen is a world class driver. Todd Owen came so close last season as he got 2 WINS, 9 TOP5s and 11 TOP10s, overall Todd has come second in SK Modified points three times, most recent in 2019. Todd Owen has the talent and the drive to go on a massive championship run, but only one driver really is in his way and that driver is Keith Rocco. If Todd wants to win a championship this season he will have to get an average finish of around 3.2 at seasons end. The SK Modified division is one of the most competitive divisions in all of racing, this will be thrilling season.
