Oscar Piastri has made a statement that he will not be racing for the Alpine Formula One team, this comes about one hour after the team announced he will be racing for them. In a bizarre twist Piastri said in an statement “I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release that I am driving for them next year.” also saying “This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for them next year.” Multiple sources, according to ESPN, say that Piastri has signed a pre-contract with McLaren for 2023.
