Lando Norris Has Horrific 185mph Crash As Sebastian Vettel Tells Off Officials

The Formula One season is kicking back off after its summer break as drivers set to race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Overall it is a wet weekend for the Belgian GP once again, but qualifying still went on with drivers on the wet compound tires. Of course in wet conditions the racing is more dangerous and cars go slower as a whole, but every driver tries to get the fastest amount of speed out of their cars. Going into the wet qually session Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel voiced his opinion that there should not be any cars on track due to the intense rain and already wet track. Nevertheless the officials did not listen and allowed cars to be still sent out, not too soon after we saw a truly horrific crash. Lando Norris crashed going at speeds of 185mph into the Eau Rouge corner, slamming into the wall and spinning several times. Norris radioed in to his team saying that he was ok, the McLaren driver got out of his car mainly under his own power, but with a little bit of assist from the marshalls. When Norris got out he was holding his arm awkwardly, overall he was the 9th fastest in the session and is credited with a DNF. When Vettel was told of the crash his response was “What did I f***ing say? What did I say? Red flag. It’s unnecessary.”

Thankfully Lando Norris was ok as a whole, but this raises concerns on if the officials should listen to the drivers more as this could have been easily prevented.
