Will Alpine Be A Top Team In 2022?

It was just announced yesterday that the Alpine Formula One Team will be bringing back veteran driver Fernando Alonso for the 2022 season. The announcement comes after a shocking win by driver Esteban Ocon at the Hungaroring, overall Alonso finished a very respectable p4. With the Alonso contract extension Alpine now has its 2022 lineup set as they already extended Ocon several weeks ago.

Overall this 2021 season has been truly crazy and it’s been hard to really see who the top team is with so many strong outings by teams and several upset winners. Going into 2022 though with the new next gen cars it will be fully unclear on who the top teams will be on the performance aspect of things. One thing is for sure though, and that one thing is that Alpine will be in a very good position in 2022. They got Esteban Ocon, the young gun who has so much untapped talent that is starting to show in this ‘21 season he is a driver that can always get solid finishes. To add to that now you have, once again Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion who already has 18-years of F1 experience under his belt and that can drive almost anything, adjusting very fast to new cars.

The Alpine team is in a ‘dream’ scenario right now with the team and its drivers as the 2021 season continues to wind down, having the ‘22 season come up faster and faster.
