NASCAR Races On Easter Sunday For First Time Since 1970

On April 17th, 2022 the NASCAR Cup Series is going dirt racing at the Bristol Motor Speedway for the second year in a row. This marks the first time since 1989 when a February Richmond race was postponed to the holiday, overall this is the first time since 1970 that a scheduled race is held on Easter Sunday. After the multi-decade absence this will be the 12th race in NASCAR Cup history held on the holiday. This will also be the 491st Cup race held on dirt as a new driver will try to put their name in NASCAR history with a win.
