Jonathan Puleo is going to be making his Stafford Speedway SK Modified debut this weekend as he will race both Saturday and Sunday at the historic track. Overall though Jonathan, nicknamed "JP" is no stranger to modified racing as he has raced in the Stafford SK Light Division since 2018, he has also raced at Thompson and the Waterford Speed Bowl (Won 2018 SKL Championship at Waterford.) It was just a matter of time until he became successful at Stafford. In 2020 we saw many drivers struggle getting things going due to the late start from the COVID-19 virus, Jonathan though ended up having a career high year at Stafford. Come the end of the season JP had 5 wins (3 regular season, 2 non points races) 6 TOP5s and 9 TOP10s. With that he finished 5th in the point standings with a total of 474 points.
After having the career high season Jonathan is ready to make the move to the SK Modified division where he will contend for rookie of the year. As he moves up he will have a number change as he will be the wheelman of the no.7 SK Mod, over the past few seasons JP had the no.57 on the car.
Jonathan has a great mentor as his father, Ed Puleo drove SK Modifies for several years, in an interview with the New York Sports Show Jonathan said he choose the no.7 because that's the car number his father had.
Jonathan will have the New York Sports Show as a sponsor on the car along with long time sponsor Mr. Rooter Pluming.
