Conor Daly Pulls Off Duel Upset

Conor Daly missed qualifying for the Daytona 500 due to a mechinal issue, with that he had to race in with the Daytona Duel. The IndyCar driver had another issue, this one being off track, literally, it was because he was off track. Due to the mechanical issue plaguing The Money Team's No.50, Daly missed practice.

Going into the second duel Daly was a lap down and facing elimination. A crash then occurred when Kyle Busch was spun into the wall, creating a chain reaction. Involved in the crash was his main competitor, Austin Hill, who was breezing to a Daytona 500 start. Hill's No.62 was out of the Duel with a DNF listed to his name, and with that the chances of making the Daytona 500 were gone.

As to one's misfortune comes another's fortune, Conor Daly, who had one of the slowest cars on track and was off pace all race long is now locked in the big race. Daly will compete on Sunday in hopes of winning the Great American Race.
