The Williams Formula One team has just gotten their first ever Q3 Result since the 2018 season as George Russell was able to power the no.63 to a p9 finish ahead of tomorrow's grand prix at Austria. Overall we have seen Williams get better and better this season, but when you look at it they are still a back marker team but success takes time!
This Q3 performance comes just hours after it was announced that Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton signed a contract extension, making Valtteri Bottas seat the only open one right now as he is yet to sign an extension. There have been many rumors of George going to Mercedes after this 2021 season, replacing Bottas and right now it is without a doubt that he is impressing. Teammate Nickolas Latifi got p18 in qually.
We saw Red Bull's Max Verstappen once again win pole as he looks to win at Austria for the second time in two weeks along with a career best Q3 finish for McLaren's Lando Norris (p2.) It will be very fun to see what these young drivers can do in the GP!
